St. Nicholas Day

St. Nicholas Day

On Saturday, 7 December 2024, the 5th Special Purpose Regiment base was filled with a unique atmosphere as St Nicholas visited the families of the Regiment's members. Accompanied by a fairytale devil and a dashing angel, he arrived in a special military vehicle.
A varied programme was prepared for the children, starting with a humorous theatre performance. There were also traditional St Nicholas presents, which the children had to earn by reciting poems and singing songs. Their courage and enthusiasm created unforgettable moments that will certainly be remembered by those present.
This year, St. Nicholas Day was combined with Family Day, creating a space not only to celebrate the holiday, but also to build community. Parents and children spent the day in an informal, friendly atmosphere that helped to strengthen relationships and create new friendships between families.
The event was organised with attention to detail, reflecting the professionalism and social responsibility of the Regiment. The event was proof that the Regiment values not only the service of its members, but also the support of their families.
"Families are an integral part of our Regiment and events like this allow us not only to show our gratitude to them, but also to create a strong and united community," said Regimental Commander Colonel Peter Žochňák.
Thanks to the meticulous organisation and enthusiasm of everyone involved, we were able to create an exceptional day that brought joy and happiness to the lives of many. Once again this year, St Nicholas not only distributed gifts, but above all contributed to strengthening family and community cohesion, which is extremely important for the 5th Special Forces Regiment.
